   NOW ACCEPTING NEW CLIENTS.

Do you have a pending traffic ticket in Williamson, Travis, Burnet, Bell, Milam, or some other nearby central Texas county??? If you have a regular (non-commercial) driver's license, I will represent you on a speeding ticket or other traffic ticket in Georgetown Municipal Court or in Justice of the Peace Court in Georgetown for only $900 in legal fees. If you have a regular (non-commercial) driver's license, I will represent you on a speeding ticket or other traffic ticket in other Williamson County courts (outside of Georgetown) for only $1,000 in legal fees. Why plead guilty or no contest to a traffic ticket and get a final conviction when you could contest the charges and possibly get a deferred adjudication or permission to take a six hour Texas driving safety class and get the ticket dismissed?

Texas law allows you to take a driving safety class every 12 months if you have a valid non-commercial Texas driver's license and proof of liability insurance for the day you received the ticket. In order to use this option, you have to be charged with traveling at a speed less than 95 MPH AND less than 25 MPH over the posted speed limit.

Even if you took a driving safety class within the past 12 months, the court still has the discretion to allow you to take a driving safety class to dispose of the case. If you are in the U.S. armed forces and have a valid driver's license from somewhere other than Texas, you can sign up for a driving safety class with the same restrictions that Texas residents have.

If you are not in the armed forces and have a valid driver's license from somewhere other than Texas, I may be able to get special permission from the judge for you to take a driving safety class in lieu of a final conviction, depending upon your driving record over the past 3-4 years.

If you hire me to represent you, I will try to get the best deal I can for you to avoid getting points on your driver's license. Many Texas drivers are not aware of a point system and a surcharge system that have been in place in Texas since 2003. Having too many traffic offense convictions can lead to increased car insurance costs, a driver's license suspension or to a costly surcharge for three years. If you are ordered to pay a surcharge and then fail to pay it, your driver's license will be suspended. For information on the Texas Driver Responsibility Program, please click here.

I will represent you in Georgetown Municipal Court or Justice of the Peace Court in Georgetown for only $900 in legal fees. This fee assumes we can dispose of your case without the need for a trial by judge or a trial by jury. The first court appearance is included in the $900 legal fees. There will be an additional fee if more than one court appearance is needed to resolve your case.

Outside of Georgetown, I will represent you in any municipal court or Justice of the Peace Court in Williamson County for only $1,000 in legal fees. This fee assumes we can dispose of your case without the need for a trial by judge or a trial by jury. The first court appearance is included in the $1,000 legal fee. There will be an additional fee if more than one court appearance is needed to resolve your case.

If more than one traffic offense is charged on the same ticket (for a single traffic stop), then I charge $350 for each additional offense after the first offense alleged on the same ticket. There may be an additional charge if you wait until less than 48 hours before a court deadline before you hire me to represent you for a traffic ticket.

If you have a commercial driver's license, the legal fees will be $500 more than for a regular driver's license.

Most prosecutors and courts will work with me to get you some disposition other than a final conviction which will show on your driving record and possibly increase your car insurance rates. Why would a prosecutor or court offer something other than a final conviction? Because most prosecutors and courts do not want to have to deal with the possibility of a jury trial which takes up a whole lot more of their time than offering a reasonable punishment recommendation on a traffic ticket.

You are, of course, responsible for paying any court costs or fines levied by the court as part of a plea bargain on a traffic ticket. You will have the final approval on any possible deal that I work out with a prosecutor or court on a traffic ticket, just the same as if it were a more serious criminal charge.

If you have a ticket in a county that is adjacent to Williamson County, the above fees are increased by $250. If you have a ticket issued in a county other than Williamson County and adjacent counties, please call me to discuss what my legal fees would be. If you have an arrest warrant issued for you because you failed to take care of the ticket before an arrest warrant was issued, please call me to discuss what my legal fees will be.

Please feel free to call me at 512-630-3745 if you have any questions about a traffic ticket. I prefer that you have the traffic ticket and copies of any correspondence with the court in front of you when you call me. I also request that the person who actually received the ticket (not a friend or parent or spouse or someone else) call me. My fees on traffic tickets are payable by cash, personal check, money order, or cashier's check. I also accept debit cards and all major credit cards.
